Which system is right for you?
Saving vs backup - know the difference
Saving comes from using your own solar power instead of buying units from GEPCO. Backup comes from the battery. Panels alone do not keep your lights on in load shedding - only a hybrid or off-grid system with a battery does. Battery size decides how much runs and for how long.
Daytime
Panels produce power now
Your loads run on solar instead of GEPCO units.
Load shedding
Battery supplies stored energy
Only with a hybrid or off-grid system.
Solar terms made simple
kW
Power at one moment. A 1.5-ton inverter AC uses about 1-1.5 kW while running.
kWh / unit
What your bill counts. 1 kW for 1 hour = 1 unit.
kWp
The size of your solar panels.
Battery kWh
Stored energy. A 5 kWh battery runs about 1 kW of load for about 4 hours.
What usually runs on backup
Fans, LED lights, fridge, TV, Wi-Fi router, CCTV. Air conditioners at night need much bigger batteries - we'll show you exactly what's possible in your proposal.

CCTV
❆ Air conditioning at night is possible - it just needs a bigger battery.
Net billing
Net billing lets you sell extra power to GEPCO, but exported units are paid at a much lower rate than what you pay for grid units. That's why the biggest benefit is using your own solar. Our systems are set to zero export by default; net billing can be arranged on request through a certified partner.
